Thank you for visiting The River Church website!

The River Church is a nondenominational, contemporary church dedicated to reaching our community for Christ and helping believers grow to maturity in Christ. We believe God has a four-part mission for us to fulfill. 1. To Add one soul at a time into the kingdom of God. 2. To Connect people to the body of Christ. 3. To Train up disciples of Christ. 4. To Send forth leaders who will repeat the process in ever-increasing measure.

Meet Pastor Steve and Joan

Part of the original team of people that helped launch The River Church back in 1997, Steve and Joan Crombie together have led the congregation and leadership team since they were appointed in August 2001. In January 2011 Steve and Joan were both ordained into Pastoral Ministry by the Network of Related Pastors. NRPastors.com

Married since 1985, the couple has one daughter and four sons; all of whom have a heart for ministry. Two of their children are married and the first grandchild arrived in May of 2010. Pastor Steve and Joan have felt called to invest in the people of Faribault since they moved here in 1986.

Small Groups

We love Sunday mornings! But the real life of the church happens during the week in our small groups, also known as cell groups. These groups of 5-12 people meet on various nights for deeper discussion, prayer, and fellowship. Led by trained and caring leaders, the goal is to help people understand how to enter a deeper relationship with God, and to learn how to apply the Bible to their lives in a practical way. In our cell groups, people are known by name and guaranteed pastoral attention. Cell groups are at the heart of The River’s ministry.
